Caramel Cake
Ingredients
- Butter- 1 cup
- Maida - 1 ½ cup
- Sugar powdered - 1 ½ cup
- Eggs - 4 nos
- Baking powder -1 teaspoon
- Vanilla essence - 1 teaspoon
- Cloves (Grambu) -1 no
- Nutmeg (Jathika) -1/2 no
- Nuts (optional) -10 nos
- Kismiss (optional)- 10 nos
- Milk - ½ cup
Preparation Method
- Stir maida, baking powder, cloves and nutmeg(crushed) well and blend. Keep it separately.
- Cream butter until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time along with sugar powder beating for one minute with mixer on high speed after each addition.
- Add flour mixture to creamed mixture .
- Add nuts and kismiss into the mixture.
- Add vanilla essence.
- Caramelise 1 tablespoon sugar and add to the cake mixture.
- Spread batter into greased cake dish.
- Bake at 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) for 55 to 65 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
